Oh man! One more day! I can hardly wait!! The Dining In Style With BabyBjörn event has been so much fun! Amanda at Coping With Frugality, Bri at Eco Baby Mama Drama and I were so excited to get to team up with BabyBjörn for this event! We’ve brought great reviews of even greater products! BabyBjörn is best known for their baby carriers, but there is so much more to the brand! Including fun kitchen gadgets!
Today we are going to talk about the bibs and smock shirts!
Big Sis used to wear a bib at every meal. Then along came Little Man. He WOULD NOT leave a bib on to save my life. So when he wouldn’t wear a bib, Big Sis decided that she didn’t want to wear one either. She was a little older, and doesn’t like to get messy, so I didn’t think much of it. However, the more and more finger foods that Little Man ate, the more he really did need to be wearing a bib. The problem is, any bib that Velcro-ed on came off just as quickly as I got it on. And snaps lasted a little longer, but still came off easily. We needed a bib that wouldn’t choke him, but also wasn’t so easily removed.
Enter BabyBjörn and their soft bibs. The BabyBjörn bibs are a soft rubber material. They are formed and have a nice pocket on the bottom to catch any dropped food or spilled water. Little Man is still learning the “open cup” thing, so he does get a bit of water down in there. But, since it’s a formed rubber, it holds it well and is easy to wipe clean!
The neck line rests easy on the child’s neck, it’s soft and gentle. The neckline has little “beads” on it. They are made of the same soft rubber material and go all the way around. To close the bib you just slide one of the beads into these little things that stick out. Easy on, easy off, yet not easy enough off that Little Man can yank it off on his own!
Big Sis and Little Man both wear, and love their soft bibs. They don’t mind when I put them on and they leave them alone the whole meal!
Along with the Soft Bibs, BabyBjörn makes Eat and Play Smocks! These would be great for helping cook, really messy meals, or in our case, painting!
These smocks are really long! Not too long, they won’t trip when walking! But definitely long enough to protect their clothing!
The smock is really easy to put on. I love that the closure is in the back. It’s two snaps, one at the top, and one a few inches down. The rest of the back is open to make it easy to move around in. The child slips the sleeves on, and you snap the back closed. It stays on well, and is easy to move in. Both of my kiddos were able to move around and paint all the wanted.
Whether you want a bib for dinner or a smock for play, I recommend both of these items! The bibs go on easy, protect the clothing, and are really easy to wash off! The smock is long and protects the clothing from big messes. They go on easily, and are really easy to move in even though they are long. Both make great items to have in your kitchen!
