TTC – Trying To Conceive. Such a fun activity! But if you really want to get pregnant, it can be sad and even frustrating to see your monthly cycle show up again! The thing is, getting pregnant is a fine art. Some don’t seem to have a hard time at all, while others struggle month after month. You can predict your ovulation with Fairhaven Health‘s OvaCue Fertility Monitor to give yourself a better chance of getting pregnant!
This is a fun little monitor that you use every day of your cycle. When you are getting started for the first time, you want to start on Day 1-4. Using the Oral Sensor while on your period. This monitor detects changes in the electrolyte levels in your saliva that are impacted by the hormone estrogen. The monitor keeps track of the readings and watches for a peak in the readings. This is called the “Cue Peak”. From that Cue Peak, it predicts out the fertile window and when you are most likely to ovulate.
One the fertile window is determined, the calendar will be filled in with colors. They are varying shades of blue. Light blue is possibly fertile, medium blue is when you should TTC, and dark blue is the most fertile day in your “window” of time for that month. The OvaCue keeps track of your current cycle day and current fertility status — and it stores up to 4 months of readings.
The OvaCue monitor has been found to be over 98% accurate in predicting ovulation in studies funded by the National Institute of Health. To increase the accuracy, the OvaCue has a second sensor available for purchase. It’s a Vaginal Sensor. After the menstration part of your cycle has ended, you begin using the Vaginal Sensor. You insert the sensor in, touch your cervix, and pull it back out just a bit. The Vaginal Sensor detects the electrolyte resistance in the cervical mucus. The monitor is able to track trends in the vaginal readings to determine when your body switches from estrogen dominance to progesterone dominance, the clue it uses to confirm that ovulation occurred. While it is not 100% accurate, only vaginal ultrasound can determine ovulation 100%, this is an extremely reliable measurement! When the monitor detects the ovulation, it’ll display a pink box on the calendar. That is a GREAT day to TTC!
This monitor is a great tool to use whether you have a regular cycle or an irregular cycle. It is recommended that if you have an irregular cycle that you use the Vaginal Sensor for more accurate data.
Along with using the monitor, Fairhaven Health has an online account that you can set up to enter all of your data into. This will graph all of your data so you can follow along a little easier. You can enter a TON of data and it will monitor it all. There is an app for Smart Phones as well, making entering the data that much easier because it’s at your finger tips.

Along with the online support, graphs, and charts, there are WONDERFUL ladies at Fairhaven Health that you can contact for help! When I first started using the OvaCue, I had no idea how to read the graphs or what I was looking at or looking for. I was able to get in touch with one of the ladies at Fairhaven Health and she was more than kind and helpful in learning how to read the charts and graphs. Once you know what you are looking for, you can predict your fertility. And with continued use of the OvaCue, you have a better chance of getting pregnant!
You will use the Oral Sensor every day. When a new period starts you just start a new cycle. Stop using the Vaginal Sensor during mensus, starting again as soon as menstration is done.
