Holy Moly! Again… Time just flew by me and I missed a week or two of journaling! And I say 27 weeks, just barely, because tomorrow I am already 28 weeks! WOW!! So exciting! Week 27 is a nerving week for me. With Big Sis every day I was anxious. With Little Man and Baby J #3, less so, because I was distracted by other things going on… But my first baby was born at 27 weeks and only lived for 10 days. I wrote about his story a while ago. So I am just a little nervous and don’t want that to happen again. BUT I also pray a lot harder for the babies during this week. So, to be at the end of this week is a great feeling of relief. I KNOW that we are not in the clear, but *I* feel less stress. And I just continue to pray for the pregnancy and the baby every day that we make it all the way to the end, strong and healthy!
About The Baby This Week:
(Information from BabyCenter.com) This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (about the size of a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She’s sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby’s brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don’t bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
How Am I Feeling?
Good! I enjoy pregnancy. It’s pretty easy on me. And this one has gone by so fast! Baby (and me too) is getting bigger, and there is a little less room in there for him, but other than feeling “squished” sometimes, things are going great!
Food Cravings And Aversions:
Sugar. Chocolate especially. But anything sweet. Including fruit. Aversions – nothing really.
Yes, sometimes. Haha! Just kidding. I sleep pretty well. But I am to the point where I just can not lay on my back, it takes my breath away. And I have to wake up to roll over because it’s a whole body movement. But, while I am sleeping, I sleep well!
Oh my goodness! This child MOVES! If he’s not asleep, he’s moving. You can *clearly* see it from the outside, so it’s fun to watch. And usually doesn’t hurt. But once in a while he gets into MY space and jabs me a good one. And there’s some position that he lays in once in a while that if someone from the outside (such as his older brother) pushes that same spot it about knocks me to my knees! But that’s not often! 😉
Well, I’ll be honest. I haven’t checked since my last appointment. It can’t look good after the holidays! So I just avoid it. Haha! I will see later this week where I am… I’ma little nervous actually about “over all weight” that has been gained.
Thursday morning I go in for lab work, blood tests to confirm that I am Rh- (I get rhogam during my pregnancies and after, I know I am Rh-, but we have to do the blood work every time JUST IN CASE 😉 ), and the *lovely* Glucose Test.
I go see my doctor Friday for our 28 week appointment where I will have my weight checked, hear the heart beat, measure my belly, and get my rhogam shot.
What Happened This Week:
Well, Christmas was last Wednesday! Daddy J was on his week off for the 6 days before Christmas, so we had some fun. Big Sis had her first ever Dance Recital Friday night. It was the cutest thing ever! She did great!! Saturday, we went to Bass Pro Shop with his parents to see Santa. Sunday, we did Christmas with Daddy J’s parents and oldest brother and wife. It was a fun, relaxing day. Monday I finished wrapping gifts and getting everything together so we weren’t shopping on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day for groceries (or anything else for that matter). I also got my hair done Monday afternoon, such a treat for me! I LOVE getting my hair done! Tuesday was Christmas Eve. It was Daddy J’s last day off, so we went to his parents house to celebrate Christmas. Dinner was delish and we had a great time with them! We went to the afternoon church service, and then came home to do our family Christmas. It was such a joy to watch the kids open their gifts! They had fun, and I enjoyed watching them! Wednesday was Christmas Day. We just hung out here and relaxed for the morning, the kids took naps, and then we went to my mom’s sister’s house for family Christmas. We had a lot of fun. When we were done there, we came back to my parents house to do our family Christmas there. Thursday was such a weird day. I couldn’t remember what day it was, everyone was back to work, but it seemed like a Saturday.
Now this week is New Year’s Eve and the start of a whole New Year! I just can’t believe how quickly time as gone! Wow! So fun. We don’t have plans tonight, but that it kind of nice. I don’t want to be out late, and on the roads with people who have been partying all night. So to stay close to home and relax will be good!
Something That Upset Me:
Nothing comes to mind…
Something I Am Looking Forward To:
Getting to hear this little guy’s heart beat again. A New Year. Getting Little Man a dresser and moving him into the “big kid room” officially. Getting the nursery back in “baby shape” (raising the crib back up, getting out the tiny clothes and hanging them up, etc.).
Boy Or Girl?
For the first time, we found out this time… Baby J #3 is a BOY!
Things I Am Doing To Prepare:
Nothing yet. But we are going to IKEA to get Little Man a dresser (the same one Big Sis has). Then we will move him out of the nursery and into the “big kids” room officially. Little Man and Big Sis share a queen size bed. They have been for a couple months now. It’s working really well! They both love sharing the bed! But his clothes and shoes are still in the nursery. So we need to move him out so we can move Baby in. And I want it done plenty early so that he doesn’t feel “replaced”.
I am 27 weeks – that leaves 13 weeks left. BUT tomorrow starts 28 weeks – so 12 weeks left. BUT I have been induced a week late with both of the others – so that COULD mean 13 weeks left at this point. Either way, it’s gone super fast so far, I can only imagine that it’ll continue to go quickly.
